Polyvine Decorators Varnish is a clear acyclic top coat in a variety of sheen levels. It is widely used as a sealer for wood, chalk and emulsion paint, paper, plaster & even textiles. The dead flat finish provides an almost invisible layer of protection and can be used for either interior or exterior projects.  For exterior projects it has UV blockers to reduce the aging and greying of wood from sunlight exposure.

It's microporous structure leaves a highly durable, water repellent surface that is resistant to staining and abrasion.  The micro pores repel mould and other airborne contaminants but allows air to pass through.  This protects the surface from algal, fungal and mildew attack.

Decorators Varnish is ideal for use on interior wood, fabric, decorative paintwork, emulsion paint, wallpaper (not vinyl), murals and plaster.  It should not be used on bare exterior wood.

To apply mix well but do not shake.  The surface should be clean, dry and free of grease, wax, polish or any other potential contaminants.  Coats should be applied thinly and if applying to a porous surface, the first coat should be thinned 10% with water.  If a dead flat finish is required the best level of protection and stain resistance is achieved by applying two coats of satin followed by a final coat of dead flat varnish.  When applying the dead flat version it should be applied sparingly and brushed out well as over application could cause misting.

Please note that this varnish should not be applied over uncured oils or oil paints.  When applied over emulsion or latex paint it may draw stains through the paint that would not otherwise be visible.  A test patch is always recommended to establish the final result.

Apply either by synthetic brush or HVLP sprayer.  Rollers are not recommended as stippling may occur.
