How much do I need?
Barrettine Wood Protective Treatment will nourish and protect rough sawn or smooth exterior timber, with a water repellent film containing surface biocides to prevent growth of mould or algae on wooden surfaces. This will also help reduce decay and the risk of the timber swelling or twisting.
It is solvent based for better absorption into the timber, leaving a transparent water repellent finish which allows the wood grain to show through. The treatment is also suitable for use on previously treated wood. It is not suitable for use on decking or garden furniture as it may not have enough rub resistance.
The pigmented coloured versions have good UV fade resistance and give additional protection against weather damage, these are available in 7 attractive colours that will compliment your shed and fence once treated. Rough wood will absorb more of the treatment and will produce a deeper colour than can be expected on smooth or planed wood.
Application: Make sure the wood is clean and free from mildew, lichen etc. If present, remove any previous coatings such as paint or varnish. Shake the tin well, both before and during the application process. If using a coloured treatment do a test patch in a discrete area to ascertain the final colour as this can be influenced by the wood type and colour. This treatment can be applied directly to unsealed or pressure treated wood. Treat exposed end grain thoroughly as this is an area particularly prone to absorbing moisture. This product cannot be applied in temperatures below 5°C, above 25°C or in direct sunlight. Can be re-coated after a minimum of 6 hours.

Returns Policy
If you have mis-ordered, don’t require the item or have been sent an item not ordered, please notify us within 30 days of receipt and we will accept the return.
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unmanaged and unused, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase or request a returns reference to enclose in the package.
To start a return, you can contact us at customer.service@restorate.co.uk. We will talk to you about the nature of your return. If we have sent an item that isn’t on your order, or is exceptional circumstances, we will organise a collection.
If you, the customer, have mistakenly ordered an item, given incorrect delivery details, or no longer wish the item, it is your responsibility and your liability to return the item in re-saleable condition in order to receive a refund for the value that the item was purchased for.
