Description

Rustins Worktop Oil is a quick drying treatment for wooden kitchen work surfaces and interior hardwood.

An innovative, water-borne blend of natural plant oils and other individual ingredients, which will nourish and protect all types of timber. Rustins Worktop Oil leaves a durable and water resistant seal which is not at risk of scratching or chipping.

It is solvent free and conforms to the UK Articles in Contact with Food Regulations and is suitable for the kitchen or in any other food-related environment. Rustins Worktop Oil adds warmth and depth to all woods, including oak, beech, teak, mahogany and veneered surfaces.

Prepare by ensuring the surface is clean, dry, sanded smooth and free from any potential contaminants. Take off any old wax deposits with Wax and Polish Remover. If the wood needs to be coloured then it can be treated with Rustins Wood Dye before oiling.

Apply liberally by brush or cloth in the direction of the grain and wipe off any surplus oil after 3-5 minutes, then allow to dry. Subsequent coats can be applied in the same way. Bare wood will need three coats. Some woods may need de-nibbing between coats if the grain raises. The ideal temperature range for applying this oil is between 15-25°C and it should not be applied if the temperature falls below 10°C.
