Osmo UV Protection Oil Extra - The original exterior UV Protection Oil!

Osmo UV Protection Oil Extra contains special clear ingredients which stop the sun's rays from ageing and greying your exterior wood without losing its natural beauty, colour or character. Based on natural oils, UV Protection Oil Extra will leave a microporous satin finish that is breathable so does not peel, flake or blister.  Swelling and shrinkage are reduced and the surface is left water repellent.

Osmo UV Protection Oil contains active ingredients which protect the surface from mould growth and algae or fungal attack.   If additional protection from blue stain, rot and insect infestation is required then the wood can be pre-treated with Osmo WR 4001 Base Coat.  If the wood has greyed it can be restored to it's original colour with Osmo Wood Reviver Power Gel prior to refinishing.

UV Protection Oil is suitable for use on all exterior vertical wooden surfaces such as doors, window frames and shutters, carports, cladding, fences and summer houses.

Prior to application make sure the wood is clean, dry and frost-free, with a moisture content no greater than 20%.  If applying to new wood, wood with a high natural moisture content or a particularly hard wood, it will need approximately six weeks weathering time so that the oil will properly adhere.  Remove any previous coatings such as paint or lacquer.  If sanding, do not use a grit finer than P120.  Apply thinly in the direction of the grain and spread well.  Allow to dry for at least 12 hours, then apply a second coat.
