How much do I need?
Liberon Floor Oil will give a stain and scratch resistant finish against daily wear and tear. It is micro porous, allowing the wood to breathe and is water, heat and alcohol resistant too. This makes it particularly suitable for use in kitchens and bathrooms.
Designed for use on all types of untreated real wooden floors, it provides a slip resistant, hard wearing finish.
To prepare, sand the floor if needed and remove any previous finish. Ensure the surface is clean, dry and dust-free. Apply with a brush, cloth or roller, working in the direction of the grain if possible. After allowing the oil to absorb for 10-20 minutes wipe away any excess with a clean, dry lint-free cloth.
If the excess is not removed it will inhibit the absorption of further coats and result in an uneven finish. A minimum of 3 coats is recommended, sanding lightly between coats. More coats may be needed on porous woods or in high foot traffic areas. Leave a minimum of 12 hours between coats and leave for 24 hours after the final coat before subjecting the floor to use. Please note that this oil will enhance the wood's natural colour. Wetting the surface will give an indication of the colour that will result.
Oiled surfaces can be cleaned with a damp cloth and spills immediately wiped up. For more stubborn stains use a mild detergent or lightly sand the area to remove the stain and re-apply the floor oil.
Precaution: Oily cloth has the potential to self-combust, so they should not be left in bundles. After use lay cloths flat to dry outside before disposal.
