Description

Fiddes Light Fast Concentrates are a range of water based dyes intended to help craftspeople colour match water Fiddes Light Fast Water Stains to existing finishes on wood. Only a very small amount of the concentrate will alter the tone or shade of the water stain. It can be used as a stand alone product to bring intense colour to bare wood.

To prepare bare wood, firstly sand initially with a P120 grit abrasive through to a P180 or P240 grit, sanding in the direction of the grain if possible. Remove the dust and do a test patch on a similar substrate to confirm the colour.

Apply in the direction of the grain with either a clean lint-free cloth or applicator pad. Immediately remove any surplus stain with an absorbent cloth, again in the direction of the grain. Wipe evenly to ensure a uniform colour. One coat is usually enough but subsequent coats can be applied if a deeper colour is required.
