Description

WOCA Driftwood Lye Primer

If you’re looking for a weathered appearance on interior woodwork, WOCA Driftwood Lye will recreate this popular effect.

Suitable primarily for untreated oak and similar hardwoods, this pre-treatment oil is available in either white or grey and will give an attractive patina.
As a pre-treatment product, Driftwood Lye needs an additional coat of oil or soap to complete the protective system.

Preparation: You will need a suitable nylon brush or paint roller, plus a plastic paint tray. Contact with skin should be avoided, so wear protective clothing including gloves and eye protection. Make sure the product is kept out of reach of children and locked away after use. Brushes and equipment can be cleaned with water and soap.

Strong Application: Sand all woodwork with 120 grit abrasive immediately before using the lye. Remove all dust, ideally by vacuuming. Shake the lye well and pour into the paint tray, ensuring that no pigment remains in the container. Stir thoroughly and repeat now and again while working to maintain an even colour.

Use a nylon brush or paint roller to apply an even coat, working in the direction of the grain. At least 1 litre of lye is needed to cover 10m2 of timber.

Allow 24 hours drying time at 20 degrees C. Then denib the raised grain or standing fibres with a fine polishing pad. Alternatively, use a WOCA Polishing Machine fitted with an appropriate pad on large areas of flooring. Vacuum away all dust, then apply a suitable WOCA Diamond Oil or Natural Soap.

Return Policy

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. 

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unopened or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Damages and issues 
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / non-returnable items 
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalised items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item. 

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

Exchanges 
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds 
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
