Remove dirt, grease, loose material, and any failing paint. Bare wood and MDF should be properly prepared and sanded before priming.

Stir the primer thoroughly before application.

Apply by brush, roller, or spray to the prepared surface.

Allow the primer to dry before applying the appropriate Mylands topcoat. Mylands advises applying primer as a full, solid coat to provide an even, receptive base for the finish.

Top Tips

Choose the primer colour according to the topcoat colour rather than automatically defaulting to white. A suitable undercoat colour can help achieve better depth and coverage.

On bare wood or MDF, make sure the surface is properly prepared before priming — the quality of the base will show through the finished paintwork.

For exterior work, make sure the surface is sound, clean, and dry before application.

Mylands specifies application between 8°C and 30°C and advises against using the product in extreme temperatures.

Why choose Mylands?

The two main considerations when buying paint are colour and coverage.
