Fiddes Raw Linseed Oil 2 Litres
Raw Linseed Oil is used to protect and nourish wood while leaving a natural lustre. It’s thin consistency makes it particularly suitable for close-grained or hard woods. It is widely used by furniture restorers and cabinet makers and is also a time-honoured treatment for cricket bats. French polishers will also use it as a lubricant for polishing rubbers.
It is best applied at room temperature in a well ventilated environment. The contents should be stirred both before and during the application process. A thin first coat would be applied either by brush or cloth, working in the direction of the grain and wiping away any surplus oil immediately with a clean cloth. Once dry, a second coat can be applied in the same way.
New interior timber would benefit from a third coat, while exterior wood will need four coats.
