The original Hard Wax Oil with colour pigment.

Osmo Polyx Oil Tints are the coloured version of the market leading Osmo Polyx Oil Original. Its transparent tinted colour is designed to absorb and protect deep into the wood, leaving a flexible, micro porous waxed satin finish, which enhances the natural colour and beauty of the wood.

Osmo Polyx Oil Tints are very durable and resistant to water and dirt and are designed not to peel, crack or flake. Polyx Oil hard wax oil is recommended for all natural wooden floors, included new or reclaimed timber, parquet and block floors, it is also suitable for interior joinery and furniture leaving a lightly waxed finish.  Polyx Oil is also suitable for children's toys, conforming to the EN71 safety standard.

Shopping List

It comes ready to use, so no priming or thinning is needed.  If sanding first then it is best to start with a coarse abrasive and finish with P120-P150 grit for floors and P180-P240 for furniture.  To apply, firstly make sure the surface is clean, dry and free from any old paints or lacquers. Apply thinly and evenly in the direction of the grain using a brush, floor brush or microfibre roller.  Allow 24 hours to dry before applying a second coat (this will also intensify the colour).  For a softer colour or if you want a matt or gloss sheen, apply one coat of tinted oil followed by a coat of Clear.

Available colours:  3040 White, 3067 Light Grey, 3071 Honey, 3072 Amber, 3073 Terra, 3074 Graphite, 3075 Black, 3091 Silver, 3092 Gold

Note: When applying 3091 Silver to dark wood species apply one coat thinly along the grain and spread well.  Allow to dry and then finish with a coat of clear Polyx Oil.  On lighter coloured woods, apply thinly along the grain with a floor brush, spread well and work into the wood.  After the first coat has dried, apply the second coat thinly and quickly.  To finish, apply a very thin coat of clear Polyx Oil.

Cleaning: Osmo Wash and Care should be used for general cleaning of Polyx treated floors.
