Fiddes Pine Water Stain is perfect for making new or old, stripped or sanded pine a uniform colour prior to finishing with Fiddes Supreme Wax. This stain is perfect for giving pine a rustic, antique appearance.  Pine Water Stains are widely used on antique pine furniture and in the manufacture of pine reproduction pieces.  It can also be used on door, floors, cabinet work and panelling.

If you are sanding prior to application, begin with P120 grit and finish with no finer than P240, working in the direction of the grain.  Make sure that all sanding dust is removed, either by tack cloth or vacuum.  It is best to do a test area on a similar substrate to establish the colour before proceeding with the job.

Stir well and apply with a brush, lint-free cloth or foam pad, working in the direction of the grain. Remove any surplus stain immediately using a clean absorbent cloth, again going in the direction of the grain.  One coat is usually sufficient but further coats will deepen the colour if needed.  To obtain a lighter shade, this stain can be thinned with water.  It is not necessary to sand between coats.  Tools can be cleaned with water.

Available colours:  Medium Pine, Dark Pine, Antique Pine
