Osmo Polyx Oil 3089 R11 is a clear satin anti slip floor wax oil that will preserve, protect and give a great finish. The Polyx Oil 3089 Anti-Slip is the perfect finish for interior wooden stairs and wooden floors. It complies with safety standard EN71.3 making it safe for use on children's toys.

As with other Polyx Oils, 3089 Anti Slip is stain resistant, abrasion resistant and water repellant.  It will resist spillage from liquids such as wine, beer, coffee and fruit juice.  As it is absorbed into the wood it will not crack, peel or flake and leaves a non-slip satin finish.  3089 has special fine granular additives which produce an extremely high surface grip, rated at R11.  This makes it a good choice if treating flooring in a business environment, such as an office or for use on sloping surfaces.

No priming of the surface or thinning of the oil is required.  If the surface is to be sanded before oiling then begin with a coarse grade of abrasive and finish with P120-150 for flooring or P180-240 for furniture.

If the oil is to be used in a damp or humid area - a kitchen or bathroom for example - then extra protection, particularly against blue stain (a fungal growth that occurs within the wood) can be achieved with a base coat of Osmo 4006 Wood Protector.

Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from dust and previous finishes such as lacquers or paints.  Apply thinly in the direction of the grain using a brush, floor brush or microfibre roller.  Allow 8-10 hours to dry then apply the second coat in the same manner.  When re-coating a previously oiled surface, a single coat is usually enough.
