Bona Natural Primer is a coloured waterborne primer used to give a natural look to unfinished wood.  This will require an overcoat of Bona Traffic HD Raw floor lacquer.  It is suitable for most types of wood but will perform best on light coloured woods.  It should be noted that Tannin-rich species may affect the colour in both the long and short term

Application:  The surface to be treated should be sanded back to bare wood using a P120 abrasive.  Before applying the primer make sure that the surface is dry and free from dust, oil, wax or any other potential contaminant.  Let the primer reach room temperature - The ideal temperature range for applying this product is between 18-25 degrees C.  It should not be applied in temperatures below 13 degrees.  Gaps between the floor and skirting boards can be treated with a gap filler while gaps in the floor up to 2mm wide can be filled with Bona Mix and Fill.

To apply, shake the container well and insert the included filter, then pour into a clean, dry container.  Apply with a microfibre roller, avoiding excess build up of the primer and work in the direction of the grain.  Coverage will be 10-12m2 with a drying time of around 2-3 hours.  If two coats of sander are applied then it is recommended to sand back between coats using a P120-150 abrasive in conjunction with a Mirka soft/hard sanding block.  If applying a single coat of primer then sand after the first coat of lacquer.

Bona Natural should only be used on bare wood.  It is not suitable for use over oils or stains, or as a top coat for other finishes.
