Bona Classic is a professional grade waterborne primer used to achieve a classic light wood look. It is suitable for use under Bona Traffic HD and Mega.  It can be used on most types of wood and is non-yellowing.  It's elastic properties make it ideal for surfaces that are prone to flexing and it's compatible with under-floor heating systems.  Bona Classic Primer has a high solids content making it easy to create a well bodied surface

Application:  Sand the surface that is to be treated back to bare wood and ensure that it is free from dust, oil, wax or any other potential contaminants. If there are gaps between the floor boards and skirting boards, they can be treated with a gap filler.  Any splits or gaps in the board up to 2mm wide can be treated with Bona Mix & Fill.

Having allowed the primer to reach room temperature, apply using a roller avoiding excess build up of product.  Once dry Bona Classic will require an overcoat of one of Bona's range of lacquers.

Bona Classic Primer is not suitable for sanding due to it's elasticity, so if the grain has been raised apply one coat of Bona lacquer before lightly sanding with a 150 grit abrasive (use with a sanding block) and then applying a further coat of lacquer.  Please note that it is recommended to apply no more than two full coats per day to avoid the risk of excessive wood swelling.

This product is ideally applied in temperatures between 18-25°C.  It should not be applied in temperatures below 13°C.  If being stored or transported, the temperature must be between 5°C and 25°C.
